As part of the only public University within the city of Charlotte, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at UNC Charlotte offers eight Ph.D. programs, 28 master’s programs and graduate certificates, and nearly 30 undergraduate degrees in the arts, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics. In addition, the College supports 13 interdisciplinary programs at all levels. Our world is wrestling with such challenges as the effects of globalization, issues of sustainability, tensions between civil liberties and national security, threats to ecological and environmental stability, and conflicts between and among cultures. The College not only is a place of inquiry where faculty and students come together to learn about such topics, but it also is a laboratory in which solutions to these challenges are sought. As problems grow in complexity, we strive to bring areas of knowledge together to realize effective solutions. I invite prospective and current students, faculty, staff, potential and current donors, and alumni not only to explore our web site but also to participate in the intellectual and cultural exchanges sponsored by the College. |
