The mission of The College of Arts and Sciences Academic Advising Center is to guide students in identifying and reaching their academic goals, and to facilitate the development of decision-making skills critical to success in college and life. The Advising Center fosters an environment supportive of students’ self-made decisions.

To accomplish our mission we provide the following services:

1. Assist students in initiating exploration of majors and creating an academic plan.

2. Guide students through course selection.

3. Chart students’ progress in completing general education requirements.

4. Teach Freshman Seminar classes.

5. Offer enhanced support services to A & S students in the freshman year, including block schedules and learning communities.

6. Offer advising workshops to faculty and peer counselors.

7. Assist students on academic probation or suspension.
8. Provide referrals to other campus and community resources as appropriate.
